Overview

The Day Shift Processing Lead is responsible for coordinating and directing the work of shop employees to meet production schedules and goals, while also training personnel in various fabrication and processing tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Advise Foreman/Manager on necessary resources to meet production schedules.
  • Plan and coordinate the work of assigned shop personnel.
  • Train and assist personnel in fabrication, processing, and loading of steel.
  • Perform job functions of Equipment Technician, Fitting Technician, Welding Technician, or Warehouse Technician as needed.
  • Identify errors and discrepancies in shop drawings and inventory.
  • Enforce work and safety rules and report violations.
  • Provide feedback to Foreman/Manager regarding job performance.
  • Make recommendations for improvements in methods or equipment.

Requirements

  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years working in steel fabrication.
  • At least one year working as a Fitting Technician, Welding Technician, or Equipment Technician at DWS.
  • Ability to understand and carry out complicated verbal and written instructions.
  • Demonstrate good leadership, communication, and training skills.

Additional Information

  • Employee is expected to work 40 hours a week, with possible overtime and weekends.
