Overview

Comfort Systems USA Shoffner is hiring Sheet Metal Fabricators to build commercial HVAC ductwork and fittings in their Knoxville shop. They welcome experienced fabricators as well as entry-level candidates with relevant hands-on industrial experience.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble rectangular and round commercial HVAC ductwork.
  • Build fittings such as elbows, transitions, offsets, plenums, and other custom components.
  • Read and follow fabrication tickets, labels, shop drawings, and basic blueprints.
  • Measure, mark, cut, bend, form, connect, and reinforce sheet metal materials.
  • Operate brakes, shears, Pittsburgh machines, seamers, bead rollers, spot welders, and plasma cutting equipment.
  • Use hand and power tools including snips, drills, impact drivers, rivet guns, and hand seamers.
  • Check completed work for correct measurements, secure connections, and overall quality.
  • Move materials safely and work with the team to meet shop production schedules.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Requirements

  • Sheet metal fabrication experience is preferred but not required.
  • Machine operating, manufacturing, production, welding, or similar hands-on experience is welcomed.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn fabrication equipment and processes.
  • Attention to detail, dependable attendance, and a quality-focused approach.
  • Ability to work safely, stay productive, and contribute as part of a team.
