Overview

As a Senior Coil Test Tank Welding Specialist, you will lead safety huddles, conduct leak tests, and mentor junior mechanics in the Coil Department. You will ensure coil quality metrics are accurate while driving safety and process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Champion a safety-first culture by modeling safe behaviors and enforcing rules.
  • Test coils at the tank, pinpoint leaks, and perform precise leak repairs.
  • Update and post key metrics and maintain the coil proficiency log.
  • Train and mentor mechanics, sharing lessons learned and implementing process improvements.
  • Conduct daily reviews of scheduled work to meet production commitments.
  • Validate the Quality metric report and resolve discrepancies with Team Lead and Station Lead.
  • Interpret work tickets, complete daily ISO documentation, and uphold 5S standards.
  • Collaborate with Team Leads, Inspectors, and Supply Chain to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Support ongoing training for safety, quality/ISO procedures, and production goals.
  • Drive LEAN principles to reduce waste and standardize best practices.
  • Advance safety performance by reporting near misses and eliminating hazards.
  • Progress sustainability by minimizing waste and maximizing recycling.
  • Innovate by turning fresh ideas into better methods and systems.
  • Tackle additional duties as assigned by plant leadership.

Additional Information

  • The working environment includes lifting up to 50lbs and standing up to 80% of the time.
  • Working hours can include any of three shifts and generally are scheduled for forty hours a week.
  • Some weekend overtime is to be expected.
  • Working temperatures include fluctuations within the plant and ambient outside temperatures.
