Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Welder for our 2nd Shift to perform welding and related shop work while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity. The ideal candidate has experience with all-position flux core welding and fitting and is comfortable working with heavy equipment and machinery.
Hours: 4:30PM to 5:00AM / 12 hours – Monday through Friday
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for performing all aspects of welding work. Safely operate heavy equipment and follow all safety policies and procedures. Perform other jobs within the shop as required to assist in meeting business demands, including air arcing, drilling holes, torching, grinding, etc. Staying compliant with all regulatory bodies as it applies to the work that is being completed and with all safety rules and policies. Perform other duties as required and directed by management. Ensure compliance in all safety, health, and environmental regulations, policies and procedures for a goal of zero incidents and injuries; Assist in delivering required training to ensure that all coworkers have the necessary skills to perform their jobs properly and safely. Communicate consistently on all activities to appropriate individuals (internal & external). Maintain ongoing communication and adhere to all Companywide policies to eliminate and/or reduce exposure to liability. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Guidelines
2+ years of experience in all-position flux core wire welding. Fitting experience. Welds subject to UT weld testing.
Skills And Abilities
Requires good communication, interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and follow instructions. Requires an eye for detail. Thorough knowledge and understanding of applicable operating and documentation procedures and material flow; Ability to meet deadlines; to understand and follow written and verbal instructions; Ability to understand and follow posted work rules and procedures; ability to accept constructive criticism; ability to prioritize, organize, solve problems, and complete tasks independently; ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with supervisors, members of management, vendors, and other employees.
Physical Requirements And Work Environment
This is a production classification and employees work indoors and outdoors (in all seasons) with exposure to noise, chemicals, heavy equipment and machinery. Accurate hand/eye coordination is required. Finger dexterity is required, as well as hand strength, with the ability to grasp, lift, push and pull. Work involves considerable climbing, twisting, bending, squatting and kneeling for long periods of time. May lift parts weighing up to 60 pounds and pull approximately 20 lbs. Need to have the ability to ascend and descent a ladder and/or scaffolding.
Welding Testing Requirements
Welder will have no more than 90 days to meet the Welder Test Criteria. For each welding process welders are required to pass two full penetration groove weld tests. This will be to a backing stripped, one inch thick, 45-degree groove in the flat and vertical positions. These will be radiographically tested and interpreted to AWS D14.1 criterion.
During the interview process the welder will take both a written test as well as perform physical welding skills which will be UT tested.
