We are seeking a hands-on Fabrication & Building/Warehouse Lead with a diversified, multi-trade skillset. This working lead role is responsible for day-to-day fabrication in our shop and serves as the lead for our building and warehouse — keeping the facility organized, maintained, and running safely. Skyline Windows is a fourth-generation family owned and operated business known for designing, manufacturing, and installing custom windows and related products.
At roughly $43/hr, this posting sits about 29% above the $33/hr median for welding jobs across New York — toward the top of a $27–$41/hr middle band drawn from 99 postings with published pay. Put another way, it pays more than about 81% of the comparable postings we have wage data for. Pay that far above local median usually comes attached to something: a harder cert requirement, travel, night shift, or overtime that isn't really optional. Worth establishing which before you accept.

The most active employers in New York at the moment, by number of open welding reqs, are Welding Shop in New York, NY (16), Alstom (4), and Metropolitan Transportation Authority (3). Volume like that usually means either a genuine expansion or a staffing agency working several client sites — worth knowing which before you apply.
Within New York, the best-paying metros we track by median hourly rate are New York at $41/hr and Brooklyn at $32/hr. If you can relocate or commute, that spread is worth factoring in.
Pay figures are medians computed from live postings in the Welding Pros index, not from survey data, and they move as employers post. Fabrication & Building/Warehouse Lead figures were last recalculated when this page was built.
