Overview

Olson Precast Company – Polymer Division (OPC Polymer) is a leading manufacturer of high-performance polymer concrete infrastructure products. The Mechanic role is responsible for maintaining and repairing production machinery and heavy equipment in the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair, and service production machinery and heavy equipment.
  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
  • Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and document work performed.
  • Collaborate with production and safety teams to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure safe operation of equipment and support continuous improvement of maintenance practices.
  • Assist with equipment installations and parts ordering.
  • Maintain an organized and compliant work area.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform maintenance and repair on industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Experience working with heavy equipment, including safe operation and mechanical servicing.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for identifying mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues.
  • Knowledge of industrial or manufacturing environments, preferably in precast or concrete industries.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders.
  • Commitment to safety practices, including use of PPE and adherence to safety guidelines.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or relevant certifications in mechanics or industrial maintenance are beneficial.
  • Ability to lift and move moderate to heavy loads and perform physical tasks as required.
