Overview

Veolia Group is a global leader in environmental services, specializing in water, energy, and waste management. They are seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic for a temporary 1-week contract to provide immediate support on a critical project.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose filtration and separation machinery for mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or basic electrical issues.
  • Monitor system performance using SCADA interfaces and control panels to identify early signs of equipment failure.
  • Analyze historical data and operational trends to prevent unexpected filtration unit shutdowns.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on pumps, blowers, valves, and complex filtration arrays.
  • Rebuild, align, and replace worn or defective mechanical parts and seals.
  • Clean, descale, and flush filtration units and piping networks according to technical schedules.
  • Adhere to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and OSHA safety standards when working near hazards.
  • Maintain accurate electronic logs of completed work orders and equipment repair history.
  • Ensure repaired filtration equipment meets Clean Water Act and NPDES discharge limits.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical trade school certification in industrial mechanics or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on industrial mechanical maintenance experience required.
  • Deep mechanical aptitude with pumps, valves, piping, and automated filtration systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and equipment manuals.
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical controls and instrumentation.
  • Competency using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.

  • Ability to lift up to 50–100 pounds.
  • Ability to work in tight or confined spaces.
  • Work takes place in an industrial environment with exposure to outdoor weather and wastewater processes.
  • Availability to participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.
