Overview

We are looking for an Industrial Sewist to join our growing production team and contribute to the completion of our quality products. This role is responsible for altering, creating, repairing and restyling our Pilates equipment accessories using industrial sewing machines.

Responsibilities

  • Measure, cut, and prepare fabrics based on project specifications.
  • Work with a variety of upholstery materials, including vinyl and canvas.
  • Ensure precise alignment and pattern matching during fabric preparation.
  • Operate industrial sewing machines to create high-quality seams for equipment components like mats, pillows, and cushions.
  • Assemble fabric components for upholstery projects.
  • Incorporate piping and other fasteners into designs.
  • Create and sew custom fabric components, such as intricate patterns and unique designs.
  • Adjust sewing techniques to suit different materials and textures.
  • Inspect completed projects for durability, accuracy, and client satisfaction.
  • Perform necessary repairs and adjustments to achieve high-quality results.
  • Provide input on fabric selection and sewing methods to enhance project outcomes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in upholstery and sewing.
  • Proven expertise in handling marine grade upholstery, vinyl, notions and tools.
  • Strong ability to measure, cut, and assemble fabrics with precision.
  • Proficiency in piping is a plus.
  • Experience with industrial sewing machines and upholstery equipment.
  • High school level education or vocational training.
