Overview

As a Service Retrofit Foreman I - Piping at Modigent, you will lead a crew of pipefitters in executing safe and high-quality piping installations and maintenance for wet-side HVAC systems across various facilities. The role emphasizes leadership growth through training and mentorship while ensuring compliance with safety standards and project goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a crew of pipefitters on daily tasks including layout, fabrication, assembly, installation, testing, and repair of piping systems.
  • Develop workable solutions with the superintendent to proactively address potential issues.
  • Conduct field surveys and physical site assessments with the superintendent.
  • Perform takeoffs and material lists to support accurate planning and procurement.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise on-site functions including crew scheduling and material control.
  • Ensure compliance with project procedures, safety requirements, and quality expectations.
  • Document incidents and recommend corrective actions to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Prepare and submit weekly reports for timely office processing.
  • Conduct job-site inspections and participate in system startups/commissioning.
  • Mentor and train crew members on piping techniques and safety practices.
  • Maintain clear communication with the project team and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 4+ years in commercial/industrial piping installation, repair, and maintenance.
  • High school diploma or GED required; trade school or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
  • Welding/brazing certification is a plus; OSHA 10/30-hour certification encouraged.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces or at heights.
  • Proficient in pipefitting techniques and blueprint reading.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
