Overview

EquipmentShare is hiring a Heavy Equipment Shop Technician (Mechanic) at their rental facility in South Plainfield, NJ. The company aims to transform the construction industry by empowering contractors and communities through innovative technology and real-time support.

Responsibilities

  • Use technology to create, assign, and monitor work orders.
  • Track machine service intervals and order parts.
  • Diagnose issues using data from various makes and models.
  • Practice safe job practices for repairing equipment.
  • Comfortably use technology like laptops and tablets.
  • Perform maintenance and repair on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
  • Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
  • Maintain paperwork and electronic documentation of work performed.
  • Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.
  • Be knowledgeable of OSHA requirements.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must own tools applicable to position.
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction equipment and understanding of schematics and diagrams.
  • Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • High School diploma; Trade school certificate preferred.
  • Experience in field service, maintenance, and repair preferred.
  • Must be able to move, stand, stoop, and bend freely.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position requiring a 10 panel drug screen.

Additional Information

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Overtime pay after working 40 hours.
  • On-call scheduling with additional compensation.
