Overview

Enstall is the world’s largest provider of rooftop solar mounting hardware, seeking a Senior Product Design Engineer or a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its product development team. The role involves designing and enhancing solar racking and mounting products for the renewable energy industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead product development projects on new and advanced solar racking and mounting products.
• Collaborate with project management, testing, application engineering, and manufacturing engineering.
• Generate and present concepts to meet customer and business needs using various techniques.
• Lead R&D efforts to develop and verify concepts using 3D CAD and fast prototyping.
• Create production-level drawings.
• Collaborate with suppliers on design for manufacturing strategies.
• Manage uncertainties through prototyping and defining test and qualification plans.
• Support and manage projects through regular meetings, schedules, and risk assessments.

Requirements

• BS/BA in a relevant engineering field (Mechanical, Materials, Aerospace, etc.).
• 4+ years relevant work experience in an R&D environment.
• Proven experience designing cost-effective, high-volume production methods.
• Ability to meet with domestic and overseas suppliers.
• Strong component design, 3D modeling, and drawing skills, preferably in SolidWorks.
• Hands-on skills with shop tools and equipment to build mockups and prototypes.
• Ability to assess usability, fit, form, and function of products.
• Strong understanding of the product development phase/gate process.
• Ability to drive down costs using knowledge of manufacturing methods and materials.
• Strong strategic and critical thinking skills.

Additional Information

• This position is based in the Phoenix, AZ office with a hybrid schedule, four days in the office and one day remote.
• Travel to project sites and other Enstall US office locations is required.
