Overview

Horsepower Automotive Group (HPAG) is a leader in the growing automotive aftermarket industry, offering a unique opportunity to be part of an exciting, rapidly growing, multi-brand organization. They are seeking experienced MIG and TIG welders to join their production team in a fully air-conditioned facility in Arizona.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG and TIG welding on a variety of steel structures per CAD print requirements
  • Build complete assemblies from start to finish, including grinding and finishing
  • Read and interpret product schematics and verify dimensions to spec
  • Track daily production build counts and flow
  • Operate a variety of manufacturing tools and welding equipment per job specifications
  • Ensure quality control standards are met on every weld and build
  • Adhere to all safety standards

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be 18 or older
  • Minimum 2+ years of MIG and/or TIG welding/fabrication experience preferred
  • Minimum 1 year working in a production environment
  • Ability to work either 1st shift (7:00am–3:30pm) or 2nd shift (2:00pm–10:30pm)
  • Strong working knowledge of MIG and TIG welding techniques
  • Experience with production welding and assembly workflows
  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, bending, cut-off saws, and grinders
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD prints and product schematics
  • Self-motivated and responsive to production metrics
  • Team player who puts the group's success first
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
