Overview
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the operation, installation, diagnosis, troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, and overall proper function of various mechanical equipment at Targa Resources, including pumps, steam turbines, compressors, and more.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and conduct preventive maintenance on rotating and process equipment
- Pull and install equipment for repair
- Perform alignment on equipment
- Monitor vibration analysis
- Identify proper oils used in facility equipment
- Identify proper gasket materials
- Manage maintenance records
- Drive a tractor
- Obtain certification for operating forklifts, small lifts, crane
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Texas driver’s license
- Able to obtain a TWIC card
- Access equipment on barges and ships, some heavy lifting and tugging on ropes, hoses & loading arms, operating valves
- Able to work 9-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays, subject to callouts and overtime
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Windows applications
- Able to work in a self-managed work team environment and take direction from team
- Must be a self-starter and flexible; able to plan and manage multiple tasks
- Able to work with a multi-national customer base
- Regular and reliable attendance is required
Additional Information
- Full exposure to extreme weather changes and humidity
- Work is generally performed in an industrial environment with various hazards and noise exposure
- Work may involve climbing at heights at or above six feet
- Travel may be required for assignments, meetings, and training
- Will work in close quarters and ability to lift, push/pull 50 pounds
