Overview

Transocean is focused on being the employer of choice for the drilling industry, challenging itself to enhance performance through technological advances and passion for work. The Crane Operator will operate the rig’s crane safely and efficiently while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the rig’s crane in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on cranes and components.
  • Supervise the Assistant Crane Operator and Roustabouts.
  • Provide instructions to Roustabouts and/or Rovers for operations.
  • Inspect all lifting equipment prior to use.
  • Operate the crane for various tasks including transferring personnel and materials.
  • Assist during rig moves and anchor operations.
  • Perform safety inspections on crane systems.
  • Maintain logs of all maintenance records.
  • Promote good working relationships with other departments and personnel.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or relevant craft certificate.
  • All licenses/certifications required for the region of operation.
  • Successful Military Discharge preferred for U.S. applicants.
  • Graduate of Trade School or University preferred.
  • Valid medical examination and vaccination certificates.
  • Norway Specific: Qualifications in accordance with relevant authority requirements.
