Overview

GEA Group, a global leader in engineering solutions founded in Germany in 1881, is seeking a Welder I to join their Production Team in York, PA. The company offers a strong culture and growth opportunities, with an average employee tenure of 5 to over 11 years.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all operations in the manufacture of standard separators, receivers, and heat exchangers to required specifications and budgets.
  • Assemble, weld, and install sub assembly parts.
  • Weld internal and external parts.
  • Install heads and sub arc.
  • Assemble and weld supports, legs, and angles.
  • Assemble and weld water boxes.
  • Perform all operations in the manufacture of standard compressor packages to required specifications and budgets.
  • Assemble and weld sub assembly parts.
  • Install package components.
  • Assemble, weld, and install system piping.
  • Assist in training less experienced employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Certified Vocational Degrees Preferred.
  • Minimum Experience: Vocational Training or Less than 2 related assembly experience.
  • Ability to qualify in a 6G test for Mig, Pulse, and Tig pipe welding.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Basic blueprint reading.
  • Basic fabrication skills.
  • Comprehension of safety rules.
  • Ability to sit, stand, reach, and walk for periods of time on concrete surface.
  • Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs.
  • Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate tools and/or machinery.
  • Willingness to work extended hours when required to support customer satisfaction.
  • Support all continuous improvement and 6S standards.
  • Follow all Safety Policy PPE Requirements.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process.
