Overview

National Strand, part of the Metals Processing Group and owned by The Heico Companies, LLC, produces steel wire and cable products. The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, installing, troubleshooting, and modifying industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting functions in a manufacturing environment.
  • Handle high voltage experience.
  • Work with DC circuits.
  • Possess PLC knowledge.
  • Manage industrial controls including panels, relays, switches, and wiring.
  • Read, interpret, and follow electrical diagrams and schematics.
  • Troubleshoot and repair rotating equipment.
  • Execute preventive maintenance.
  • Work with pneumatics and pneumatic controls and components.
  • Inspect equipment and communicate effectively with peers and managers.
  • Weld using MIG and/or Stick.
  • Use various tools for electrical testing and mechanical tasks.
  • Understand and follow instructions.
  • Maintain safety standards and use appropriate LOTO procedures.
  • Learn quickly to operate equipment for testing and assurance.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area and equipment.
  • Read, interpret, and follow mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams and schematics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting.
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment desired.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • High School Diploma required; Technical School Certifications preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office and other support software.

Additional Information

  • Must be able to work rotating shifts and be available for overtime and weekend work.
  • The position operates in a professional office environment with occasional exposure to fumes and moving mechanical parts.
  • Physical demands include lifting up to 100 pounds and working around heavy machinery.
