As an Electrician based in Hoboken, NJ, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of municipal services through preventive and corrective maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and scheduling maintenance and repair of specialized mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, drawings, sketches, and specifications.
• Perform skilled electrical repair work on water/wastewater treatment plant equipment.
• Analyze equipment failures to determine causes and prevent recurrences.
• Assist with recordkeeping and prepare routine and special reports.
• Provide on-the-job training to less experienced employees.
• Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on machinery and equipment.
• Regularly inspect working conditions and maintain cleanliness and safety of equipment.
• Assist with review of capital improvement project studies and designs.
• Forecast material and equipment needs and perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Possess a valid electrician certification.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Five years of experience in the maintenance of wastewater treatment plants or industrial settings.
• Five years of electrical experience troubleshooting and repairing motors, pump controls, and lighting systems.
• Proficient in the use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Knowledge of NEC code for bending/installing conduit and properly sizing wire.
• Familiarity with troubleshooting a variety of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Intermediate knowledge of SCADA controls.
• Knowledge of methods, materials, and instruments used in maintenance and calibration of electrical systems.

Additional Information

• This position will spend a substantial amount of time performing safety sensitive labor.
• Onsite employees are expected to attend a Jacobs Workplace on a full-time basis.
