Overview

Dallas Fabrication is a structural steel fabricator established in 1974, known for delivering reliable service, quality workmanship, and competitive pricing. The Fitter role involves interpreting fabrication drawings, measuring and marking materials, and assembling structural steel components to specified tolerances.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints.
  • Measure and mark materials accurately.
  • Assemble structural steel components to specified tolerances.
  • Fit and align beams, columns, and plates.
  • Prepare materials for welding.
  • Verify dimensions using appropriate tools and gauges.
  • Work closely with welders, machine operators, and supervisors.
  • Follow company safety standards and maintain a clean work area.
  • Support continuous improvement of fabrication processes.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret structural steel drawings and blueprints.
  • Hands-on experience in fitting structural steel components.
  • Familiarity with common fabrication processes and equipment.
  • Knowledge of shop safety procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Attention to detail and quality in verifying dimensions and checking alignment.
  • Physical ability to lift and move steel materials and stand for extended periods.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Previous experience in structural steel fabrication or fitting is preferred.
