Overview

Xylem is a Fortune 500 global water solutions company dedicated to advancing sustainable impact and empowering the people who make water work every day. They are seeking a motivated, hands-on individual to join their team as a Shop Technician, an entry-level opportunity for someone looking to build technical skills in an electromechanical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, repair, and test submersible wastewater pumps.
  • Perform basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Operate shop equipment, including forklifts and overhead cranes.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Accurately document work in the work-order system.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Support a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Trade school or technical training in electromechanical systems or a related field preferred.
  • 0–2 years of technical, mechanical, electrical, or hands-on experience.
  • Basic to intermediate electrical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and understand technical information.
  • Comfortable using computers, tablets, and basic software tools.
  • Ability to learn new equipment, processes, and technical skills.
