Job Description

Overview

Altec is seeking a career-minded Equipment Mechanic for fieldwork, providing essential support to utilities and telecom industries. Responsibilities

  • Perform replacement of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components.
  • Utilize all technical support resources in troubleshooting and identifying parts needed for repair.
  • Perform Unit Condition Inspections and Reports.
  • Maintain work area in a safe, clean, and orderly manner.
  • Perform all tasks in a manner fully consistent with Altec Safety practices and procedures.
  • Advise supervisors of situations that may impact a customer relationship.
  • Provide accurate and sufficient information on all required documents.
  • Demonstrate Altec Company Values.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, state-approved High School Equivalency, or GED.
  • Experience with aerial devices, digger derricks, chippers, cranes, or similar heavy equipment.
  • Previous experience as a mechanic or technician, with a focus on heavy equipment.
  • Education in mechanics, electrical and/or hydraulic systems.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Physical effort to move objects and tools that may weigh up to 75 pounds.
  • A high level of dexterity.
  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to support customer by working overtime.
