Overview

The Precision Metal Fabricator — TIG/MIG role involves creating high-quality assemblies for technical training solutions. The company, Amatrol, specializes in industry-leading technical training systems and eLearning used globally.

Responsibilities

  • Build jigs, fixtures, tooling, and custom assemblies.
  • Perform layout, fit-up, welding, and brazing across tubing, structural steel, and plate.
  • Decode blueprints, drawings, weld symbols, and specifications.
  • Measure, mark, cut, bevel, and prep material for high-precision fabrication.
  • Set up and operate TIG and MIG equipment and cutting tools.
  • Tack and fit with attention to distortion, shrink, and tolerance control.
  • Grind, finish, inspect, repair, and modify weldments.
  • Support product enhancements, prototypes, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on fabrication and welding equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Positive, quality-driven attitude.
  • ASME Section IX certification is a plus.
  • 2–4 years welding, fitting, or fabrication experience for Level 2.
  • Formal welding training or equivalent experience.
  • 4–8 years combined welding/fitting/fabrication experience for Level 3.
  • 8+ years of advanced welding/fabrication experience for Level 4.
  • Proficient in layout, fit-up, and fabrication methods for Level 3.
  • Expert in TIG and MIG for Level 4.
  • Strong blueprint-reading and welding capability.

Additional Information

  • Day Shift Only – No required weekends.
  • 44-hour week: Mon–Thu 6:00 AM–3:30 PM; Fri 6:00 AM–2:30 PM.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
