Responsibilities

  • Perform structural engineering assignments under the direction of a licensed engineer.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical support to structural design teams.
  • Assist with the preparation of structural engineering projects including analysis and design of bridges and other structural elements.
  • Apply basic techniques, theories, precepts, and practices in structural engineering projects.
  • Occasionally travel to gather offsite field data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • Current and valid registered PE in Texas.
  • 5 or more years of experience in structural engineering, specifically with bridge design and analysis.
  • In-depth knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Specifications and AREMA.
  • Experience with Production/Task Management including quality control and documentation management.
  • Experience with STAAD or alternate structural engineering modeling software is a plus.
  • State DOT experience is a plus.
  • Willingness and ability to do light to moderate travel for field data collection.
  • Willingness and ability to work in various weather conditions.
