Overview

The Machinist 3 position at the Ledbetter Location involves performing machine setups on various types of lathes and mills, reading blueprints, and maintaining equipment while adhering to safety regulations. The role requires extensive experience and proficiency in CNC programming and measuring tools.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all engineering instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform machine setups on manual and CNC machines with minimal assistance.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Maintain a clean work area and follow safety regulations.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on machines.
  • Verify gage calibration for measurement accuracy.
  • Set up and configure machine fixturing as required.
  • Utilize and maintain proficiency in CNC programming languages.
  • Apply knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Use standard measuring tools effectively.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Assist other departments with management approval.
  • Perform all other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 7+ years of experience working with manual and/or CNC machines.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of handheld measuring tools.
  • Knowledge of machine safety practices.
  • Understanding of job orders and production processes.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and specifications.
  • Attendance and punctuality are essential.
  • Demonstrates respect and professionalism toward customers and employees.
  • Works collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Accepts accountability for actions and adheres to policies.
