Overview

Wyo-Ben, Inc is a family-owned business established in 1951, specializing in Wyoming Bentonite Clay based products. The Mechanic Helper position at the Magnet Cove Bentonite Plant involves assisting with the repair and maintenance of heavy mining equipment while ensuring safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, lubrication, fueling, and inspections on mine equipment.
• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment and haul trucks.
• Identify and repair electrical issues, hydraulic hose failures, and oil leaks.
• Use computer diagnostic tools to troubleshoot equipment problems.
• Perform welding and basic fabrication work as needed.
• Complete pre- and post-shift inspections and PMs.
• Communicate maintenance needs and safety concerns to supervisors and team members.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and environmentally responsible work area.
• Follow all company safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Current CDL with Tanker, Doubles, and HazMat endorsements required.
• Welding certification may be required.
• 6 months to 1 year of preventative maintenance experience preferred.
• General mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment.
• Basic welding and metalworking skills.
• Basic computer and math skills.
• Strong communication and recordkeeping abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
