Nucor is North America's largest steel and steel products manufacturer, known for its innovative sustainability practices and vibrant culture. The Maintenance I position in Houston, TX, focuses on upholding safety standards while performing maintenance and repair work on processing equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example in following and promoting safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain processing equipment, including cleaning as needed.
  • Identify worn, damaged, or unsafe equipment conditions.
  • Assist with welding, cutting, fabrication, and mechanical repairs.
  • Perform hands-on maintenance and repair work on shredder-related equipment.
  • Support fellow team members and assist with various tasks.
  • Assist and guide customers to appropriate locations for unloading materials.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in working outdoors.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Strong verbal communication skills for effective interaction with teammates and customers.
  • Ability to work well in a team setting.

Additional Information

  • Work schedule is Monday to Friday from 6 AM to 4 PM, with occasional Saturdays from 6 AM to 12 PM as needed.
