Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic at Performance Team is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving conveyor systems and material handling equipment in a warehouse and distribution environment. Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain conveyor systems and material handling equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical components including bearings, rollers, belts, chains, sprockets, motors, and gearboxes.
  • Assist in troubleshooting basic electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Observe equipment operation and identify potential mechanical failures or performance issues.
  • Remove, repair, or replace defective components to restore equipment functionality.
  • Test equipment following repairs to verify safe and proper operation.
  • Assist with installation and modification of conveyors and related equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities according to established schedules and procedures.
  • Inspect equipment for wear, damage, misalignment, lubrication deficiencies, and other maintenance concerns.
  • Complete lubrication, belt adjustments, component replacements, and routine maintenance activities.
  • Document maintenance findings and report equipment concerns to maintenance leadership.
  • Support efforts to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Assist with maintenance and repair of warehouse support equipment including dock equipment, fans, air compressors, and facility systems.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance work areas, tools, and equipment.
  • Support emergency equipment repairs and operational uptime initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and work order documentation.
  • Record labor hours, repairs completed, and parts used.
  • Assist with identifying replacement parts and inventory requirements.
  • Communicate equipment issues and repair status to maintenance leadership.
  • Follow all OSHA, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, PPE, and company safety requirements.
  • Report hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Ensure maintenance work is completed safely and according to established procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of industrial maintenance, manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, facilities, or related maintenance experience.
  • Experience working with conveyor systems.
  • Working knowledge of bearings, belts and chains, motors and gearboxes, rollers and conveyors, basic pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and standard maintenance equipment.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to document work electronically.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional Information

  • 3rd Shift: 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM, Sunday - Thursday.
  • Regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Work in warehouse and industrial environments with varying temperatures.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and alternative shifts as business needs require.
