Overview

Spectrum, a trusted name for over 50 years and now part of Watchfire, is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician to join their installation department. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment at the Houston Plant while ensuring the facility and service vehicles are well-maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Use a wide variety of tools to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing equipment.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks and audits of machine conditions related to preventive maintenance.
  • Communicate verbally, in writing, and electronically with team members.
  • Operate machine controls and manually manipulate machines for troubleshooting.
  • Perform in-process diagnosis of equipment based on vibration, noise, and sight.
  • Conduct research to find replacement parts, technical manuals, and vendors for repairs.
  • Set up fixtures and work holding devices, check assembly clearances, and test mechanical components.
  • Interpret engineering prints, OEM assembly drawings, and schematics.
  • Ensure all installation vehicles and equipment are in good working order.
  • Coordinate with contractors for facilities maintenance and maintain records.
  • Use CMMS to log all equipment repairs.
  • Operate installation trucks and production equipment.
  • Manage and organize expense reports for equipment repair.
  • Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch in tightly configured spaces.
  • Lift and carry 10 pounds consistently and lift/move 50 pounds.
  • Travel to vendors and mechanic locations as necessary.

Requirements

  • Proficient in reading, writing, and typing in English.
  • Experience presenting information in small group situations.
  • Excellent reasoning skills related to cause and effect.
  • Ability to identify critical troubleshooting details to minimize repair times.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally with production employees and contractors.
  • Exceptional teamwork, communication, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Completion of 10hr in OSHA 1910 and/or 1926 within 3 months of hire date.
  • Two written work-related recommendations from previous/current employers or instructors.
  • Minimum 2 years of Facilities Maintenance or similar work experience.
  • Two years of commercial electrical experience in an industrial environment.
  • Strong experience with computers, internet, and Microsoft software.
  • Valid State Driver’s License.

Additional Information

  • Regular hours are daytime M-F.
  • Priority equipment repairs may require additional hours and weekends.
