Job Description

Overview

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment, supporting the site’s business goals and objectives through safety and maintenance systems.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to maintenance needs in a timely manner.
  • Follow and reinforce established safety protocol, including machine lockout tag out.
  • Troubleshoot issues and participate in root cause analysis.
  • Identify and resolve recurring maintenance issues.
  • Solicit feedback from machine operators to assist in the diagnosis of issues.
  • Coordinate activities with other maintenance staff members as needed.
  • Fabricate fixtures or hardware in support of equipment modifications.
  • Install and set up new equipment.
  • Assist or direct preventative maintenance activities.
  • Assist or direct changeover activities as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain reports and documents of maintenance activities.

Requirements

  • 3 – 5 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of industrial equipment preferably in a steel processing environment.
  • Trained in general safety.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must have own tools; specialty tools will be provided.
  • Must wear safety equipment and personal protective equipment as required.
  • Able to help organize and maintain maintenance areas and parts room.

Additional Information

  • The work environment is predominantly indoors, within a steel production facility, which may involve exposure to noise, heat, dust, and various chemicals.
  • Position may require working in non-standard shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
