Overview

This position is for a Maintenance Mechanic at a Fortune 500 consumer products manufacturer in Wheeling, IL. The company is known for its employee stability, safety, and long-term career growth, and is looking to invest in the next generation of maintenance talent.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical equipment
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production machinery
  • Complete welding, fabrication, and machining projects
  • Repair pumps, motors, conveyors, gearboxes, and material handling equipment
  • Support equipment rebuilds and reliability improvement initiatives
  • Utilize SAP/CMMS systems to document maintenance activities
  • Follow all Lockout/Tagout and safety procedures
  • Work closely with operations to minimize downtime and improve performance

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of a maintenance apprenticeship program OR 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience
  • Experience troubleshooting equipment in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Welding and machining experience required
  • Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings
  • SAP or CMMS experience preferred
  • Strong commitment to safety and teamwork

  • Location: Wheeling, IL
  • Shift: Night Shift (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM)
  • Schedule: Fireman Schedule (36 hours one week / 48 hours the next)
  • Benefits start on Day 1
