Overview

Clean Harbors is seeking a Container Mechanic in Houston, TX, responsible for various tasks including welding, inspecting, and maintaining containers at company and customer locations. The role emphasizes health and safety and requires logging time and materials into an electronic system.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices.
  • Perform compliance and safety inspections and correct equipment deficiencies.
  • Perform welding, cutting, grinding, mechanical repair, and other metal working techniques.
  • Maintain shop housekeeping and building maintenance obligations.
  • Perform surface preparation of equipment prior to painting and apply coatings.
  • Fabricate, cut, and weld on roll off containers.
  • Produce quality products while focusing on given standards.
  • Log all necessary entries of time and materials into the electronic repair order system.
  • Keep the company truck clean, tidy, and free of hazards.
  • Perform other welding duties and tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Welding (MIG & Stick) and mechanical experience in a fabrication/repair shop environment.
  • Experience performing flat welding with steel preferred.
  • Successful completion of Structural Welding test.
  • Welding Certification is considered an asset.
  • Ability and willingness to wear a respirator and must be clean shaven.
  • Valid driver's license and clean 3-year driving record are required.
