Hatch is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical/Piping Engineer to join their Project Delivery Group in Houston, TX. The company is committed to positive change and offers engineering services for projects globally, focusing on sustainable solutions and innovative practices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Digital Project Delivery of Mechanical and Piping Engineering functions within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Assist project team in understanding project requirements related to scope, execution strategy, cost, and schedule.
  • Support site field visits to gather information and data for projects.
  • Assist in equipment identification and selection activities, including sizing, layout, technical specifications, and vendor information reviews.
  • Support piping system design activities, including hydraulic analysis, P&ID development, material specification development, stress analysis, and layout.
  • Populate information and attributes into the data-centric project environment.
  • Interface with vendors throughout the design and procurement process.
  • Maintain direct interface with the client throughout the project duration.
  • Participate in HAZOP reviews.
  • Assist in resolving engineering issues during the project lifecycle.
  • Promote and maintain ethical and professional practices in engineering work.
  • Adhere to and promote the Hatch corporate safety culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
  • Approximately 5+ years of engineering experience.
  • Strong deliverable focus and ability to plan work.
  • Ability to learn and understand inter-discipline dependencies related to Mechanical and Piping Engineering functions.
  • Exposure to procurement, contracting, and commissioning methodologies.
  • Sound knowledge of codes and standards applicable to the project.
  • Well-developed communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional Engineer license or Engineer-In-Training status is preferred.
  • Site experience in a technical role is preferred.
