Overview

The Welder I - Electron Beam Welder position involves performing electron beam welding on assemblies, setting up and tending machines for high-velocity electron beam welding. The role requires adherence to technical instructions and company standards for quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Review work orders to ensure familiarization with job requirements.
  • Follow technical instructions and interpret engineering blueprints.
  • Operate machines utilizing proper procedures for optimum weld quality.
  • Perform welding using Heli-arc, Spot weld, and Electron Beam equipment.
  • Inspect parts continuously to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Perform set-ups and adjust control settings for various assembly types.
  • Leak test welded parts as required by routing.
  • Record weld results and distribute daily reports.
  • Maintain file of weld schedules and fixtures in good order.
  • Perform cross-sectioning of parts where required.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical degree is a plus.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 30lbs.
  • Ability to walk/stand for prolonged periods.
