Overview

EquipmentShare is hiring a Heavy Equipment Shop Technician (Mechanic) in South Plainfield, NJ, to provide maintenance and repair for various heavy equipment machinery and aerial lifts. The company aims to transform the construction industry through innovative technology and a dedicated team.

Responsibilities

  • Use technology to create, assign, and monitor work orders.
  • Track machine service intervals and order parts.
  • Diagnose issues by pulling data from various makes and models.
  • Practice safe job practices for repairing equipment.
  • Comfortably use technology such as laptops and tablets.
  • Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
  • Assist in training lower-level technicians as needed.
  • Maintain paperwork and electronic documentation of work performed.
  • Assist with the pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.
  • Be knowledgeable of OSHA requirements.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must own tools applicable to the position.
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction equipment and understanding of schematics and diagrams.
  • Superior customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • High School diploma; Trade school certificate preferred.
  • Experience in field service, maintenance, and repair preferred.
  • Must be able to move, stand, stoop, and bend freely.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position requiring a 10-panel drug screen.

Additional Information

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime pay after 40 hours.
  • Role is subject to on-call scheduling with additional compensation.
