Job Description

Overview

Noblis MSD is seeking a Machinery Systems Engineer to support submarine auxiliary and machinery control systems for the U.S. Navy. This role involves hands-on engineering, testing, troubleshooting, and technical documentation to ensure the reliability of submarine propulsion and auxiliary systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory and shipboard testing, troubleshooting, and analysis of submarine auxiliary machinery control systems.
  • Develop, execute, review, and revise engineering test plans, procedures, and test reports.
  • Analyze Fleet technical information to identify issues and recommend solutions.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain technical documentation, engineering drawings, and artwork for technical manuals.
  • Provide engineering support for the design, installation, modification, maintenance, repair, and operation of submarine systems.
  • Interpret naval ship blueprints, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Collaborate with Navy personnel, engineers, and cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree OR High school diploma, trade/industrial school graduate, or GED equivalent and minimum 6 years of engineering experience.
  • Proficiency reading and interpreting naval ship blueprints and technical manual drawings.
  • Ability to produce artwork suitable for inclusion in technical documentation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot challenging technical issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • U.S. Citizen; DoD Secret clearance desired. Ability to obtain a Secret clearance is required.

Additional Information

  • This position is based at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Philadelphia Division located at the Philadelphia Navy Yard.
  • Minimum of four days per week onsite.
  • Up to 10% travel required.
