Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic at Frankford Candy plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of mechanical systems within the facility. This position involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of various mechanical equipment to minimize downtime and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on pumps, boilers, conveyor systems, and other mechanical equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical failures and implement effective solutions to restore equipment functionality promptly.
  • Operate forklifts and climb ladders safely to access and service equipment located at various heights.
  • Work overtime as needed to address urgent maintenance issues and support production schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and equipment status to support operational planning.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with pumps, boilers, conveyor systems, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift and climb ladders as required.
  • Knowledge of three-phase electrical systems and mechanical components such as gaskets.
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime when necessary.
  • Technical certification or vocational training in mechanical maintenance or related field (preferred).
  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs and safety compliance (preferred).
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) (preferred).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics (preferred).
  • Previous experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment (preferred).
