Overview

The Electrician AC (HVAC Technician) position at PATCO in Lindenwold, NJ involves maintaining HVAC systems and performing related duties in emergencies. This is a full-time, journeyman-level role requiring specific technical skills and certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and diagnose equipment malfunctions.
  • Make appropriate repairs and overhauls to HVAC systems.
  • Maintain and repair relay and microprocessor control systems.
  • Charge refrigerant systems and repair drive motors and compressors.
  • Assist with general transit car electrical maintenance and repair duties.
  • Participate in training to maintain a safe work environment.

Requirements

  • High school graduate with vocational/technical training as an HVAC Technician or ten years of experience.
  • Four years of experience as an HVAC Technician maintaining rail transit vehicle HVAC systems.
  • Valid US Environmental Protection Agency Type II Certification.
  • Knowledge of safe use of industrial hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions and communicate effectively.
