Overview

The Rigger position involves setting up, assembling, and disassembling rigging for the safe relocation and transportation of machinery, tools, and equipment. This role requires physical strength, attention to safety, and the ability to communicate effectively with team members.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect and test rigging materials for safety and reliability.
• Align, level, and anchor machinery or equipment.
• Use hand and power tools to attach loads to rigging for support or movement.
• Select appropriate gear based on load weights and sizes.
• Be aware of obstacles and the location of other people.
• Signal or communicate with workers during hoisting and moving loads.
• Manipulate rigging lines and hoists to move or support materials.
• Control movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings.
• Tilt, dip, and turn suspended loads using multi-point suspension techniques.
• Install ground rigging for yarding lines using various tools.
• Assist in fabrication, setup, and repair of rigging and support structures.
• Attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures.
• Dismantle, inspect, clean, organize, and store rigging equipment.
• Operate vehicles or mechanized equipment such as forklifts and lifts.

Requirements

• HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to take direction and follow instructions closely.
• Ability to visualize job outcomes using deductive and inductive reasoning.
• Ability to use precision measuring tools and equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, or technical manuals.
• Familiarity with hand or flag signals.
• Willingness to learn and follow safety requirements.
• Valid driver's license; CDL and/or endorsements may be required.
• Three to five years of rigging or directly relatable experience for advanced positions.
• Ability to supervise others and manage time efficiently.
• Knowledge of employee life-cycle processes for advanced positions.

Additional Information

• Must be able to perform physical activities including climbing, lifting, and balancing.
• Ability to work at varying heights and in non-temperature-controlled environments.
• Must work in a high-functioning team environment.
