Overview

The Machinist position involves manufacturing detailed parts and tools from various specifications using computer- and mechanically controlled machine tools. This role requires setting up and operating CNC machines, performing precise measurements, and ensuring product quality while adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain CNC milling and turning centers according to complex blueprints and specifications.
  • Retrieve job related information such as job routings, part drawings, tool lists, and work instructions.
  • Select and utilize appropriate cutting tools and work holding for various materials and machining processes.
  • Document manufactured quantities and all required processes utilizing ERP system.
  • Perform precise measurements and inspections to ensure parts meet stringent quality control standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize machining efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Assist with developing new machining methods and tooling for complex parts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5-6 years of relevant experience.
  • High school degree or equivalent, plus advanced training.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of customer specifications and requirements.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to use calipers, micrometers, etc.
  • Mastery of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions).
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Understand and obey safety requirements.
  • Commitment to keep work area clean and free of debris.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, as well as reach with hands and arms for extended periods of time.
  • Capable of standing for long periods.

Additional Information

  • Weekend shift: Friday to Sunday, 12-hour shifts.
