Overview

Tesla is seeking a Utility Field Service Technician to support large-scale utility energy assets by troubleshooting, servicing, and upgrading battery and voltage equipment. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player who is ready for 100% travel within the contiguous United States.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment as defined by the service engineering team.
  • Perform required preventative maintenance activities on stationary battery systems.
  • Maintain a safety focus while working on utility sites.
  • Operate a variety of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic and measuring equipment.
  • Develop and follow best practices and procedures for maintenance activities.
  • Maintain high levels of communication within the Tesla Energy service organization.
  • Prepare daily updates of work completed, problems identified, and future timelines.
  • Provide support outside your region and possibly outside the country as required.

Requirements

  • Ability to navigate NEC guidelines and knowledge of NFPA 70E practices.
  • Previous electrical trades experience with power/hand tools and electrical equipment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 2 weeks at a time with short notice.
  • Flexibility to work on weekends and overtime.
  • Ability to work at great heights and in extreme environments.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds frequently.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Strong computer skills and comfort with Microsoft Office and cloud-based programs.
