Overview

The Pipefitter Journeyperson is responsible for planning, laying out, and performing various types of pipe fitting and fabrication work according to applicable plans and industry standards. The role requires effective communication, a commitment to quality work, and the ability to collaborate with a team in a safety-sensitive environment at Sundt, a 100% employee-owned contractor.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, lay-out and perform all types of pipe fitting and fabrication work.
  • Continually seek opportunities to share knowledge and teach others.
  • Eliminate waste such as waiting, rework, transporting, material storage and time.
  • Inspect subordinates' work for accuracy and compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Look for opportunities for improvement in all tasks and methods.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with all crew members.
  • Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Produce high quality work safely and productively.
  • Provide feedback to ensure all materials, tools, and information are available for the work.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read and understand drawings, specifications, safety and quality standards.
  • Must have a minimum of three to six years of experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry.
  • Must have an in-depth understanding of the pipefitter trade.
  • Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Information

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required.
  • May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
  • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
  • Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
