Overview

The Temporary Trades Helper position at SRP involves performing semi-skilled tasks under supervision to assist journeyman and higher classification workers. SRP is a major public power and water utility in Arizona, known for its commitment to customer service and employee well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Loads, unloads, handles and works with various types of tools, materials and equipment.
  • Operates various types of equipment in the performance of the job.
  • Assists crew leader, journeyman and others in performing assigned tasks including installing pipe/conduit and constructing canal and water systems.
  • Builds forms, mixes and applies various construction materials and products, and performs masonry and concrete work.
  • Installs and terminates electrical cables and repairs and assembles electrical equipment and structures.
  • Rigs equipment to be lifted and uses hand tools to complete assigned work.
  • Performs or assists in the disassembly, repair, assembly and testing of various equipment.
  • Responsible for safety of others and ensuring work is accomplished in a cost-effective manner.
  • Keeps work areas and premises neat, clean, and orderly.
  • Must be willing to accept emergency call outs during off duty hours and occasionally work nights and temporarily out of town.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • Must display courtesy, tact and cooperation to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Must be highly motivated and able to maintain a positive attitude under physically demanding conditions.
  • Must have the ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Must have the ability to accurately and legibly complete applicable paperwork.
  • Appropriate respirator medical certification, fit test and training required.
  • Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license.
