Overview

The Senior Facility Engineer is responsible for the engineering and design of various gas and liquid facilities, including gas compression and LNG facilities. The role involves developing specifications, managing project objectives, and ensuring compliance with regulations while mentoring engineering staff.

Responsibilities

  • Develop specifications and drawings for assigned projects including design calculations.
  • Develop project objectives, estimates and responsibilities by reviewing client requirements and conferring with project managers.
  • Responsible for engineering and design of gas compression facilities, LNG facilities, RNG facilities, and other related systems.
  • Develop service, material and construction procurement scopes of work, evaluate proposals and provide award recommendations.
  • Review vendor drawings for compliance with technical specifications and project requirements.
  • Perform and/or review pipe sizing calculations, valve sizing, and hydraulic designs.
  • Interact professionally with clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Provide support for engineering/design manhour estimates and overall project cost estimates.
  • Specify materials and equipment for purchase and write equipment specifications when required.
  • Control project plans by reviewing designs, specifications, and status reports.
  • Ensure project compliance with government regulations and safety rules.
  • Mentor and supervise engineering staff and provide training presentations.
  • Lead projects with multi-disciplined engineering teams and perform tasks necessary for primary design.
  • Lead procurement efforts including vendor evaluations and recommendations.
  • Lead field engineering efforts or on-site meetings with clients.
  • Delegate and assign engineering tasks to project teams.
  • Evaluate and redline drawings including PFDs and P&IDs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering Discipline (BSME).
  • Valid Professional Engineer license.
  • Preferred 7 years of professional experience with 5 years in oil & gas/utility industry.
  • 5+ years of experience with turbomachinery equipment.
  • Thorough knowledge of PFDs, P&IDs, piping drawings, and isometric fabrication drawings.
  • Good knowledge of industry codes and standards such as ASME, ANSI, API, NFPA, and CSA.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and organization skills.
