Overview

GTI is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design and development of mechanical systems for modular infrastructure projects. This role involves collaboration with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to create manufacturable designs and production documentation, with potential travel of up to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Design structural frames, enclosures, weldments, sheet metal assemblies, and equipment layouts.
  • Develop mechanical designs that support fit, function, serviceability, installation, and transportation.
  • Support integration of cooling equipment, piping, mechanical components, and electrical systems.
  • Create fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, bills of material, and engineering documentation.
  • Perform component sizing, tolerance analysis, and basic engineering calculations.
  • Support design reviews, prototype builds, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Apply Design for Manufacturing principles to improve quality and production efficiency.
  • Work with manufacturing teams to resolve fit-up, tolerance, and assembly issues.
  • Support engineering changes and continuous product improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2+ years of mechanical design experience.
  • Experience designing fabricated structures, mechanical assemblies, or industrial equipment.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
  • Experience creating manufacturing drawings and engineering documentation.
  • Experience with modular infrastructure, industrial skids, power systems, HVAC, or equipment enclosures is preferred.
  • Experience with weldments, sheet metal, piping, thermal systems, FEA, or CFD is preferred.
  • Background in fabrication, custom manufacturing, or New Product Introduction is preferred.
