Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic position involves performing maintenance, repair, and installation of industrial machinery and systems in a food processing plant. The role requires troubleshooting equipment failures, conducting preventative maintenance, and improving equipment reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Execute Preventative Maintenance Duties.
  • Repair equipment per written Maintenance procedures.
  • Repair manufacturing and facility equipment.
  • Assess problems with minimal guidance and supervision.
  • Interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Understand electrical wiring and basic PLC, VFD, and motor control.
  • Follow Lock Out Tag Out Procedures prior to working on equipment.
  • Work with Packaging Equipment such as scales and case sealers.
  • Document preventative maintenance activities.
  • Use standard and specialized hand tools safely.
  • Promote a safety culture by following safe practices.
  • Complete documents as required by department guidelines.
  • Comply with all SOPs, GMPs, and SQF standards.
  • Execute all duties assigned by Management.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing.
  • Basic to advanced electrical knowledge.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective communicator and collaborator.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Skilled at managing complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
  • Flexibility to change priorities on assigned tasks.

Additional Information

  • Frequent presence on the production floor.
  • May involve exposure to noise, temperature fluctuations, and other manufacturing conditions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Requires ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, and reach.
  • Visual acuity requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
