Job Description
Overview
Trades Generalists perform a variety of skilled and semiskilled maintenance, repair, installation, and construction tasks in the mechanical, building, motor equipment, and electrical trades. They work under the supervision of higher-level trades positions and are expected to work with considerable independence.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, repair, installation, and construction tasks in various trades.
- Supervise subordinate maintenance staff by making assignments and inspecting work.
- Work from detailed plans, diagrams, and specifications or rough sketches and oral instructions.
Requirements
- Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled tradesperson.
- Equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in skilled trades.
- Valid New York State driver's license when required to operate motor vehicles.
