Overview

The Repair Technician position at STERIS involves performing inspection, repair, and refurbishment of surgical instruments, ensuring they function properly for surgeons. This entry-level role offers training and requires occasional travel, with a focus on customer service and support within assigned territories.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic to intermediate inspection and repairs on surgical instrumentation using various tools.
  • Work in the field on a mobile repair truck, inside a repair lab, or inside a hospital.
  • Provide invoicing and documentation based on business needs.
  • Support various locations within the assigned territory based on customer needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience or 1 year of experience at STERIS.
  • Must be able to meet flexible schedules with early/late hours and occasional overnight travel.
  • Must pass a DOT medical/physical exam and comply with all DOT regulations.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must be at least 21 years old to meet FMCSA age requirement for commercial interstate driving.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and push instrument carts ranging from 10-150 pounds.
  • Must comply with hospital/customer credentialing requirements.
