Overview

The Field Service Technician Punching position involves supporting customers with Amada Punch Presses in Long Island, NY, including installation, service, and various training. The role requires proficiency in troubleshooting and maintaining mechanical and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and control systems.
  • Perform repairs, installations, and maintenance of Amada press brakes and punch presses.
  • Follow layout drawings and blueprints for equipment installation.
  • Complete daily service reports and weekly expense reports.
  • Communicate effectively in English.
  • Maintain excellent customer relations and follow through.
  • Manage the equipment installation process at customer sites.
  • Provide operation, applications, software, and part programming training.
  • Utilize Amada applications software for line control and part programming.
  • Travel regularly within assigned territories.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a 2-year degree with related work experience preferred.
  • Ability to analyze and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, optical, and electrical systems.
  • Proficient in using hand tools, Volt/Ohm meter, and Oscilloscope.
  • Working knowledge of computers and Windows OS.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Accountable and responsible for customer service and support.

  • Routine travel within assigned territories with occasional overnight stays.
  • Territory includes Hempstead NY, Long Island, NY.
  • Significant overnight travel during the first few years.
