Overview

The Millwright Helper position in Mesa, AZ, involves assisting Millwright journeyman with the demolition and installation of clarifier equipment. The role requires passing a pre-employment drug test and offers a competitive hourly wage with a project duration of one year.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Millwright in planning, layout, and performance of mechanical equipment installation and maintenance.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with all crew members.
  • Produce high quality work safely and productively.
  • Provide feedback to ensure availability of materials, tools, and information.
  • Look for opportunities for improvement in tasks and methods.
  • Learn and understand safety hazards related to the work.
  • Develop effective math skills for basic calculations.
  • Learn to safely use work-related tools and equipment.
  • Eliminate waste in various forms during work.
  • Ask supervisors for clarification on work or safety practices when unsure.

Requirements

  • One to two years of experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry.
  • General understanding of craft work being performed.
  • NCCER Core Curriculum and/or a High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Information

  • Work up to a 12 hour shift in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
  • Will lift, push or pull objects up to 50lbs on an occasional basis.
