California Closets, founded in 1978, is a leader in premium space management, providing custom-designed organizational solutions. The Maintenance Mechanic & Technician coordinates daily maintenance activities, focusing on heavy wood processing machines and various building systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and identify heavy wood processing equipment or machines needing repair.
• Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs.
• Inform appropriate personnel of problems affecting production quality and schedules.
• Develop and maintain preventive maintenance procedures for equipment and building systems.
• Maintain tools and equipment through proper storage and usage.
• Ensure compliance with local building and fire codes.
• Set up and maintain maintenance records and project files.
• Requisition parts, supplies, and raw materials needed for maintenance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in maintenance-related roles with heavy CNC-style machinery.
• Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to use and troubleshoot hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to abide by applicable personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Ability to frequently climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
• Ability to read, interpret, and understand equipment manuals and blueprints.
• Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and up to 25 pounds frequently.
• Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts.
• Ability to frequently bend, twist, squat, kneel, and lift, and to stand and sit as required.
