Overview

The Assembler role at OBE focuses on building doors and frames, requiring attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and problem-solving skills. OBE is a leader in architectural glass and building products, contributing to significant projects across various sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
  • Perform general fabrication and assembly of doors using hand and power tools.
  • Drill holes and prepare materials according to work orders, fabrication sheets, and schedules.
  • Measure workpiece dimensions and conduct quality inspections to ensure accuracy.
  • Ensure parts meet specifications by following prints, worksheets, and shop drawings while completing tasks with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Experience using power tools, machinery, and reading a tape measure (to 1/16”).
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and perform basic math.
  • Effectively multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate clearly with peers and management.
  • Flexible to work varied schedules and cross-train as needed.
  • An uncompromising safety-first approach in the workplace.
